As one the largest queer-owned software companies in the world, and publisher of two of the most widely-used LBGTQ+ mobile dating apps on the app store -- SCRUFF and Jack’d -- we at Perry Street know and feel why these issues matter to our community and to our world.
The values of Perry Street Software have led us to make difficult decisions that separate us from the rest of our industry:
Perry Street Software intentionally does not integrate with Facebook, Instagram, or other “social login”
systems, which users of our app notice when they sign in to their profiles.
In 2018, in response to the advent of new privacy legislation in Europe called GDPR, Perry Street
Software decided to remove all third party advertising in its apps. This decision continues to cost the company revenue, but simultaneously helps protect our members' identities. Watch a video of our CEO describing this history.
From its inception, Perry Street Software has never shared or sold member lists with third party data brokers. Read more about the history behind our decision.
Perry Street Software was one of the three largest donors in support of CCPA in 2020, a groundbreaking privacy law in California. Perry Street Software continues to engage in technology policy in Washington, D.C. We have begun to meet with Senators and Congressmen to ensure that the LGBTQ voice is heard as critical decisions are made about free speech, app store policy, and social media regulation.

Ultimately, unlike other companies in Silicon Valley, we are building an app that we ourselves use and share with our friends and loved ones, and that is why we feel the decisions we make as a business uniquely align with the interests of our community.
